Ad Standards of Acceptance

The following are guidelines to be used in accepting advertising to be published in Quik Quarter Classifieds publications:

Real estate advertising must be in compliance with the Fair Housing Act.

Employment advertising must not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, religion, age, sex, or marital status except where legal restrictions prevail.

The following categories of ads/accounts must be paid in advance:
Garage sale / moving sale ads
Going out of business / lost our lease ads
Out of state advertisers
Political advertising
"900" phone number and "chat line"* ads
Lounges and bars
Private-party accounts totaling more than $90
Business accounts totaling more than $125
Business & Service Directory advertising
Advertising of a political or religious nature must identify the sponsor in the ad.

Abbreviations are not accepted.

Business opportunity and investment ads requiring payment in advance for information will not be accepted.

Adoption ads may not specify the race of the child sought.

All advertising may be subjected to business and/or Better Business Bureau reference checks.

900 phone number or "chat line"* ads are subject to a higher rate.

Business rates apply when
placing promotional advertising
charging an ad to a business account
advertising a service (i.e. lawn care, handyman, baby-sitting, stud service, etc.)
selling inventory for an on-going profit (i.e. firewood, appliances, vehicles, furnishings, etc.)

* the term "chat line" applies to ads that include a per-minute charge for callers.
